Morning Peeps & Happy Sunday
I hope you are all have good crafting plans for today. The weather has turned colder in this little corner of Kent which is a good enough reason to get down to some crafting....as if I need a reason!
My card today is for entering into the CAS(E) This Sketch #219
Here is the Sketch
Here is my Card
Yes... I know, I know, this is a retired stampset from a while ago BUT this sketch challenge is for fun
and when I saw the sketch this stampset instantly came to mind. It was the VERY FIRST Stampin' Up Stampset that I purchased, and I bought it as a pre-loved set at a Papercraft show I visited. This was about 4 years ago, maybe longer. Needless to say, I was hooked. I remember being impressed by by the quality of the stamp and the packaging it came in, such a great method for storing stamps. Even now, I LOVE the way I can just line them up on my shelves & quickly look through the spines to see which sets are which. It's the little things, you know, that make all the difference in my life.
Anyway back to the card... I had chosen the stampset and now I had to decide on the colour. Well, the star had to be yellow.... right? 'Cos stars are always yellow. So there you go.... Daffodil Delight it is. Now what colour would go with yellow.....? Blue... yep, it would, but I remembered I had seen a combination of Daffodil Delight and Tempting Turquoise somewhere & I had ADORED it. So decision made. I stamped it all in Tempting Turquoise and Daffodil Delight. Now it looked OK but it looked kind of flat somehow, it had no Oomph, if that makes sense.
So I spent a goodly time considering options..... and one option was to make myself a coffee...;) Which I did, while I pondered the other options and then it came to me... I needed a third colour, so I opted for Real Red, I chose this because it is a strong colour and they eye needs to be drawn to it. Now, what to balance the Red with?, hhhmmn, then I remembered I had the Enamel Shapes in the Brights colours and guess what, they come in Stars, Hearts and Dots. Yaay! I popped a couple of the stars onto the card and it all came together so to speak. Phew! I have to say, some cards don't come easy and this was one of them but I am delighted with the result.
What do you think?
Leave me a comment below and let me know, I would love to have your thoughts.
Anyhow, now you have seen the sketch, why don't you play along?
It is great fun!
